Contract Number Type - The type of award instrument. Must be one of the following:

DoD Contract (FAR) dropdown value A mutually binding legal relationship obligating the seller to furnish the supplies or services (including construction) and the buyer to pay for them using appropriated funds. It includes all types of commitments that obligate the Government to an expenditure of appropriated funds and that, except as otherwise authorized, are in writing. In addition to bilateral instruments, contracts include (but are not limited to) awards and notices of awards; job orders or task letters issued under basic ordering agreements; letter contracts; orders, such as purchase orders, under which the contract becomes effective by written acceptance or performance; and bilateral contract modifications.
DoD Contract (Non-FAR) dropdown value A mutually binding legal relationship obligating the seller to furnish the supplies or services (including construction) and the buyer to pay for them using non-appropriated funding. It includes all types of commitments that obligate the Government to an expenditure of non-appropriated funds and that, except as otherwise authorized, are in writing. In addition to bilateral instruments, contracts include (but are not limited to) awards and notices of awards; job orders or task letters issued under basic ordering agreements; letter contracts; orders, such as purchase orders, under which the contract becomes effective by written acceptance or performance; and bilateral contract modifications.
Micro-purchase dropdown value An acquisition of supplies or services using simplified acquisition procedures, the aggregate amount of which does not exceed the Micro-purchase threshold. The Micro-purchase threshold is in FAR 2.101.
Grant dropdown value A legal non-procurement instrument that is used when substantial involvement between the DoD and the recipient is not expected when carrying out the activity contemplated in the agreement. Grants are used when the principal purpose of the relationship is to transfer a thing of value to the recipient in order to carry out a public purpose of support or stimulation, as authorized by US law. Grants are not subject to the FAR; however, they are subject to the DoD Grants and Agreements Regulatory System (DoDGARs). Grants can be awarded to commercial organizations, nonprofit entities, and educational institutions.
Cooperative Agreement dropdown value A legal non-procurement instrument which, consistent with 31 U.S.C. 6305, is used to enter into the same kind of relationship as a grant (see definition "grant"), except that substantial involvement is expected between the Department of Defense and the recipient when carrying out the activity contemplated by the cooperative agreement. Cooperative agreements are not subject to the FAR; however, they are subject to the DoD Grants and Agreements Regulatory System (DoDGARs). Cooperative agreements can be awarded to commercial organizations, nonprofit entities, and educational institutions. The term does not include "cooperative research and development agreements," as defined in 15 U.S.C. 3710a.
Other Agreement dropdown value An instrument that is not a contract, grant, or cooperative agreement for certain projects. Other Agreements are not covered by the FAR or its supplements, but they follow 10 USC 2371 and are subject to the DoD Grants and Agreements Regulatory System (DoDGARs), and are meant to be flexible instruments. The terms and conditions of individual agreements can vary greatly from one instance to another in support of individual program objectives.
Intragovernmental transactions dropdown value An order for goods or services between DoD or Federal entities. A reimbursable intragovernmental transaction occurs when the seller procures goods or services for a Buyer, and is reimbursed upon performance or delivery.
Intergovernmental transactions dropdown value Transactions between a US state or local government and US federal government entities for the acquisition of goods or services from each other.
Non-DoD Contract (FAR) dropdown value Contracts written by non-DoD Federal activities (e.g., General Services Administration (GSA), GovWorks, Department of Interior) and paid for using appropriated funds. This includes contracts entered into by another agency outside the Department of Defense.

This includes contracts entered into by another agency outside the Department of Defense.
International Agreement dropdown value Includes any document, among others, identified as an international agreement, memorandum of understanding, memorandum of agreement, memorandum of arrangement, exchange of notes, exchange of letters, or technical arrangement with one or more foreign governments (including their agencies, instrumentalities, or political subdivisions) or with an international organization. It does not include Foreign Military Sales (FMS) transactions and contracts entered into under the provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulation or agreements financed with security assistance funds.
